Who we are
Ability Bow is a registered charity (no. 1115595) set up since 2006 to support people with disabilities and long-term health conditions to exercise, increase independence and the quality of daily living.
Our Intentions Around Data Protection
At Ability Bow, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of serviced users, our supporters, and the visitors to our website.
In particular, we want you to know that Ability Bow is not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. We never do that sort of thing; and we always take the protection of our data seriously.
In this Privacy Policy, we provide detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

Google Analytics
When someone visits abilitybow.org, we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site.
This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
Mailing Lists
We collect information from people when they sign up for our mailing list, so we want to tell you what information we gather, why we need it, and what we do with it.
As part of the registration process for our quarterly e-newsletter, we collect personal information.
We use that information for a couple of reasons:
- To tell you about things you’ve asked us to tell you about
- To contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information
- To check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied
- We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter.
You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by contacting our data protection officer, via email, at: simohamed.dahiri@abilitybow.org.
Third Parties
We sometimes need to share your information with other providers, for example if they also take a share in your support.
We may share anonymised personal information with other organisations, in particular when we work in partnership to deliver services.
Some of our work is delivered in collaboration with other charity providers, local authorities, and the NHS. We will let them know about the impact of our service, and sometimes share your anonymised summarised medical history and demographics with them.
If for any reason we wish to share your name or any additional information about you with our partners, we will obtain your permission first.
