Welcome here to Ability Bow
They’ll keep you fit from your head to your toes
You may be disabled or have a long time health condition
The staff will advise you on health and nutrition
They will support you to exercise that’s their main mission

10 Years of Putting the Ability back into disability

Ability Bow was founded in 2006 to enable people with disabilities or long-term health conditions to become fitter and more independent through exercise. Back then we started supporting about 20 people; today we are a team of 15 staff supporting over 450 disabled people in our gym.Most of the people we work with have had a life-changing event such as a stroke or the diagnosis of a long-term condition. We receive around 25 referrals monthly from GPs, Physiotherapists and other Health or Social Care Professionals.

Ability Bow 10th Birthday!

BarbaraOn April 12th we turned 10 and celebrated ten years of Putting the Ability back into disability with our members, colleagues and supporters . We heard some great speeches from several of our members , some new and some who have been attending for ten years!

Our London Marathon 2016

Some of the AB teamSunday April 24th saw this year’s Virgin London Marathon and what a great day it was. The weather was good for the runners but a bit chilly for the spectators!

Rest in Peace James Elliott & Chris McMuck

It is with deep sadness that we announce that gym members Professor James Elliott and Chris McGuigan sadly passed away over the festive holidays.

We are sorry to say goodbye to Prof. James Elliott our friend and client, known in our centre as the Professor, he passed away on Dec 30th 2015. Our team feel honoured and grateful to have met James who was attending our gym every week for nearly 3 years , we are glad to have known him and to have been able to support him during his time with us. RIP Professor James

The Big Fun Run 2015 - Thank you !

Ability Bow joined forces with the 5k Big Fun Run on Sunday 1st November 2015

Many signed up to support us taking part by running, jogging, walking or using a wheelchair. We had a great day in Victoria Park with 18 out of the 1000 or so participants representing Ability Bow.
