Volunteer or run for Ability Bow on October 29th

Ability Bow is a team of dynamic and committed individuals striving to support people with disabilities to get fitter and more independent. Our team works with over 400 clients each year and enable people to transform their lives for the better. Every year we take part in fundraising events, with teams of supporters participating in events and raising money for Ability Bow through sponsorships and pledges. In short, we are always trying to generate funds in all sorts of ways.

In our first decade we raised £2.3 to support 3650 disabled people to exercise. Many of the people we help need long term support to enable them to make transformative change but it is funding for the long term support which we find the most challenging to find. Each year our charity needs to raise over £250,000 to maintain our disability service at existing levels. To carry on supporting disabled people to live richer, more active lives we need all the help we can get. Every pound raised goes towards delivering our service and not a penny is wasted.

Each year we partner with The Big Fun Run organisers to help put on the 5k Big Fun Run in Victoria Park. We supply 15-20 marshals along the route. The great news is The Big Fun Run make a donation to Ability Bow for our help manning the event, so we need 15 or so volunteers to make this a reality.

It’s an important date in our calendar as it gives our service users the chance to be part of the community and come together as team to support their unique gym. We are looking for runners who can fundraise via sponsorship as well as volunteer marshals for the day so any extra helping hands are most welcome to join our team. See how last year looked on our facebook page. Give us a shout if you want to help out :)
