We'd like to introduce you to our friend and colleague Annemette , a qualified and chartered physiotherapist. She specialises in neuromuscular conditions and enjoys working with all injuries ranging from acute to chronic infirmities. She uses strength and conditioning principles as well manual skills and exercise methods for effective rehabilitation. Over her eight years of experience accumulated from Denmark, Germany and England, Annemette has gained an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the biomechanics of this exciting and challenging field. Annemette is offering treatment to our 2017 Marathon team and will make a donation of her fee to Ability Bow for every client she sees. Please note Annemette treats females only.
My name is Annemette Jepsen, I am a chartered physiotherapist and nutritionist based in East London.
With the upcoming London Marathon event in April 2017, I would like to promote my services to help runners have a successful and pain-free running experience.
I offer a biomechanical running screening/assessment in relation to running style and technique to determine potential causes of injury or prevention of any injuries. The session involves a head to toe assessment of a clients' alignment, balance, coordination and movement patterns. Problem areas are assessed more fully, and I offer correctional running technique tuition, with the goal of minimizing injuries and better running efficiency. This will be combined with a tailored nutrition program and guidelines/advice on running equipment.
Most running injuries are a result of overloading muscles, tendons, joints or bones, I will help design a running plan that will target this as well. I also treat and help clients recover from common running injuries such as:
- Shin splints, calf and Achilles pain
- Runner’s knee; Patellofemoral pain or ilio-tibial band friction syndrome
- Lower back pain
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Stress fracture
- Ankle sprain
